And I finally get back to doing my prompts XD Not a big fan of this one, but it'll do for now

Peak pulled a face - clearly not at all pleased with this whole affair, especially having to get dressed up and making sure all the fruit salad was shown [hell, he didn't know how the hell he got half of these, especially since most of the awards came from things that were considered normal duty for a Dragonator]. He glanced up at Z'neth. "Why are we doing this parade nonsense?" he asked.

Z'neth shrugged, clearly not knowing either. "I'm not sure, Phillip," he admitted, absently using his brother's real name. "Joshua's never had a parade for us doing our work before. Unless this is an excuse for us showing off our new dress uniforms."

Apex shook her head, clearly her brothers hadn't been listening when Joshua told them that it was part of the celebration for Z'neth's upcoming wedding. Of course, she didn't mind getting all dressed up - especially since Cifex was going to be attending the celebration.

"Could they get any more obvious?" Nora groaned, flopping onto a cushion next to Peak, resting her head on his shoulder. "I mean, they've been doing this song and dance for how long?" she asked.

Peak glanced over at where Nora was looking. Of course, Big Z was being oblivious, or so everyone thought, to Ilona's shy flirting with him. "Since she became legal," he sighed, glancing up at the ceiling. It was getting to the point where it was down right pathetic that this was going on for so damn long. Okay, so Z'neth had more then a handful of years on Ilona - still given the life expectancy of a Dragonator, one would think he'd be a little more open to a.. Peak's mental train of thought got sharply derailed the moment he saw his older brother do the 'glance to the right, glance to the left, make sure no-one's watching' move before kissing Ilona deeply.

"When.. When the hell did that happen?" Nora asked, stunned by the scene.

A sequel to this one http://strongheartmaid.livejournal.com/13303.html

Snake-Eyes merely stared in disbelief at the pair of figures, holding.. Was that really a fruit basket in the Baroness's hands? He boggled for a moment before thumping a heel to the ground to alert Shana to their guests.

Shana was drying her hands on a towel when she heard the thump and jogged slowly to the living room, grateful that she kept a set of throwing knives on her person - just in case. She stopped next to Snake-Eyes and found herself boggling at the sight as well. She glanced at the fruit basket, then up at the Baroness, then down at the basket again.

James was very glad the metal mask hid his expression because he could feel a eye twitch at their reactions. Okay, so normally they'd be guns a-blasting about now, but seriously, they couldn't afford the attention to their work right now.

Shana cleared her throat and plastered on a cheerful smile. "Why don't the two of you come in and we can see what we can do about that fruit basket of yours?"

Z'neth had to admit that for first kisses - it was nothing that he had expected. He had heard the stories from some of the other members of the corps about theirs, he had heard the story from his father about his first kiss with his mother, but nothing quite prepared him for his first.

He wanted to say it was after a date with Ilona [something that he had yet to take her on properly, adventures with his family didn't quite count as a proper one on one date], when he walked her to the door of her quarters, sharing a kiss, a quiet moment before she retreated inside. But no - his first kiss came during a time of his life that he rather forget happened.

Ilona settled next to him, resting her head on his shoulder. "What are you thinking about?" she asked softly.

"Our first kiss," he admitted.

She gave a soft chuckled. "Ah, our first," she murmured. "It was quite an interesting first."

Z'neth gave a hum of agreement. He still couldn't believe that she had the courage to kiss him while he was Attor, the son of Dread Wing.

Attor stood in the entrance way to the temple, his golden eyes fixed on the woman kneeling before the altar, her hands clasped together before her and her lips moving quietly, murmuring long forgotten prayers to the Celestial Dragon. "Priestess," he called quietly.

She turned her head upon hearing his voice, sightless orbs of emerald gazing in his direction. "Lord Attor," she greeted softly. She stayed where she sat, not bothering to rise to greet him, not that it was expected of her to rise. "I was not expecting you."

"I noticed," he noted as he quietly approached her. He knelt down next to her, placing a clawed hand on her shoulder. "Offering prayers for my father's next victory?" he asked her.

She said nothing for a long moment, carefully choosing her words. "No," she said finally. "Offering prayers to the Celestial Dragon that you may find what your heart seeks."

Attor stiffened a moment in irritation before he relaxed knowing what she told him. Kiya-Ta always could read him, far better then he had anticipated she would. She must have known of his internal conflict following those encounters with the Dragon Flyz, how those foreign memories had once more started to return, and said that to reassure him. But, he didn't know what his heart was seeking. He used to - but now, now he had no idea what his heart wanted.

"Does the Celestial Dragon foresee me gaining a wife?" he asked quietly.

Kiya-Ta laughed, a sound that reminded Attor of water running over stones, and shook her head. "I am but a simple priestess. I do not have the ability to foretell the future, Lord Attor," she said, amused. "But if you wish to have a simple priestess answer, then yes, you will gain a wife and she will be everything you need. She will bring you great joy, my prince."

Attor nodded and rose from his place next to the ancient priestess. "Thank you, Kiya-Ta," he said quietly, turning to head back to the war chambers.

Kiya-Ta just shook her head slightly and settled back into her prayers. Or she would have if she hadn't sensed a certain elder mutant entering her chambers. "Lord Dread," she greeted.

Dread Wing started a moment before walking in. Always unnerved him when the priestess acknowledged him first - how she knew he was there, he had yet to figure out. "Kiya-Ta."

"I already know what you plan to ask," she said calmly. "The same thing you ask every time you enter my chamber. You should know by now that you'll fail to defeat the Dragon Flyz. They have a power that even you can not defeat."

Dread sighed quietly. As always, the priestess told him nothing he didn't already know in regards to the thorns in his side. "I was going to ask if you saw Attor," he corrected her lightly.

"The son who is not your son," she retorted. "Yes, he was here. He asked if I saw both victory for you and if I saw him gaining a wife. Those answers are for only he to know, Lord Dread."

"Being annoyingly cryptic tonight," he groused.

"And when am I not being annoyingly cryptic," she teased good naturedly.

"Annoying brat," he grumped.

"Takes one to know one," she countered.

"How I took you as a lover I'll never know," he sighed and settled down next to her, pulling her close. "Will he find out the truth?"

Kiya-Ta was silent. "He knows in his heart of hearts that he is not your son, but his mind still says he is," she answered finally. "He will rejoin his real family within the coming days."

Dread sighed softly into her hair. "Damn."
