Attor stood in the entrance way to the temple, his golden eyes fixed on the woman kneeling before the altar, her hands clasped together before her and her lips moving quietly, murmuring long forgotten prayers to the Celestial Dragon. "Priestess," he called quietly.

She turned her head upon hearing his voice, sightless orbs of emerald gazing in his direction. "Lord Attor," she greeted softly. She stayed where she sat, not bothering to rise to greet him, not that it was expected of her to rise. "I was not expecting you."

"I noticed," he noted as he quietly approached her. He knelt down next to her, placing a clawed hand on her shoulder. "Offering prayers for my father's next victory?" he asked her.

She said nothing for a long moment, carefully choosing her words. "No," she said finally. "Offering prayers to the Celestial Dragon that you may find what your heart seeks."

Attor stiffened a moment in irritation before he relaxed knowing what she told him. Kiya-Ta always could read him, far better then he had anticipated she would. She must have known of his internal conflict following those encounters with the Dragon Flyz, how those foreign memories had once more started to return, and said that to reassure him. But, he didn't know what his heart was seeking. He used to - but now, now he had no idea what his heart wanted.

"Does the Celestial Dragon foresee me gaining a wife?" he asked quietly.

Kiya-Ta laughed, a sound that reminded Attor of water running over stones, and shook her head. "I am but a simple priestess. I do not have the ability to foretell the future, Lord Attor," she said, amused. "But if you wish to have a simple priestess answer, then yes, you will gain a wife and she will be everything you need. She will bring you great joy, my prince."

Attor nodded and rose from his place next to the ancient priestess. "Thank you, Kiya-Ta," he said quietly, turning to head back to the war chambers.

Kiya-Ta just shook her head slightly and settled back into her prayers. Or she would have if she hadn't sensed a certain elder mutant entering her chambers. "Lord Dread," she greeted.

Dread Wing started a moment before walking in. Always unnerved him when the priestess acknowledged him first - how she knew he was there, he had yet to figure out. "Kiya-Ta."

"I already know what you plan to ask," she said calmly. "The same thing you ask every time you enter my chamber. You should know by now that you'll fail to defeat the Dragon Flyz. They have a power that even you can not defeat."

Dread sighed quietly. As always, the priestess told him nothing he didn't already know in regards to the thorns in his side. "I was going to ask if you saw Attor," he corrected her lightly.

"The son who is not your son," she retorted. "Yes, he was here. He asked if I saw both victory for you and if I saw him gaining a wife. Those answers are for only he to know, Lord Dread."

"Being annoyingly cryptic tonight," he groused.

"And when am I not being annoyingly cryptic," she teased good naturedly.

"Annoying brat," he grumped.

"Takes one to know one," she countered.

"How I took you as a lover I'll never know," he sighed and settled down next to her, pulling her close. "Will he find out the truth?"

Kiya-Ta was silent. "He knows in his heart of hearts that he is not your son, but his mind still says he is," she answered finally. "He will rejoin his real family within the coming days."

Dread sighed softly into her hair. "Damn."
