but isn't Anubis, I don't know, neutral in the grand scheme of things in Egyptian mythos - so why is a group that worships him the bad guys in this Hammer House of Horror comic I read?

Because gods involved with death are frequently made the bad guy, even though they have nothing to do with actual evil. Death is literally the most neutral thing in existence because it comes for us all, but people fear it, so its gods become "evil." Same thing happens to Seth, who represents chaos. Seth vs. Horus is chaos vs. order not evil vs. good. Chaos is also a big neutral, because it happens to us all as well. And Hades often is portrayed badly as well, even though he isn't even the death god! Everyone forgets about Thanatos.

Male soprano seems appropriate for Akhenaten. The art style used during the Amarna period makes him look more feminine than traditional Egyptian art of males. I've always thought of him as rather androgynous.
