"We have seen him kill!" Joshua exploded at Aaron. "Tell me why I should stay here and risk my daughter's life?"

Aaron opened his mouth as if to answer but closed it after a moment. Joshua was right. It was too risky for Ilona to stay here while that madman, the dark and twisted version of his eldest son, wandered the streets, killing seemingly at will. "You're right, Joshua," he said slowly, finally. "I was just hoping for her to stay, in the off chance that maybe.."

Joshua nodded, knowing what his friend was getting at. "It's too much of a risk," he said quietly. "There's no telling how much of him.. is in him.."

Aaron nodded. "Don't.. don't tell me where you're going, lest I slip and tell him."

Joshua nodded. "Of course, Aaron," he said quietly. "I'll pray for his safe return."

"As will I," Aaron said, his pale gaze drifting to stare out into the night, silently praying that the night won't end with more blood shed.

it's a teaser for a scene set later on - I just need to figure out how I'm getting to that particular scene.

I figured that by now that Aaron and Joshua have at least discovered that the killer is Z'neth but they can't figure out the how (or how the fuck they're explaining it to the police)

"Your part is silent, little toad!" Gangryn hissed at the struggling female. By the mother of night, capturing these small humans had been a headache to end all headaches. All this to set up a trap to catch one of the accursed Dragon Flyz. Gangryn sighed to himself, wondering just what he had gotten into when he agreed with his master to do this particular plan.

The female glared daggers at him but fell silent - not that she had much choice as she noted the dagger in the mutant's hands. It was either she fell silent of her own volition or ..well.. she was certain that dagger would be used.

The male of the pair was gagged but Gangryn could almost make out the sounds of a certain Dragon Flyz name being said. Good. He almost hoped that one would come - after all, they still had some unfinished business.

"Excuse me?" Dread Wing asked, not bothering to look up from his paperwork. He knew he should probably be giving his 'son' his full attention but right now..

"You've deceived me," he repeated, the words gaining more of a bite.

"And how, pray tell, did I accomplish that?" Dread asked, finally turning his attention to his only 'son'.

"You know exactly how, Father," the mutated human said, his voice in subarctic tones. "Everything you've said, everything you've done, all calculated to fit your twisted purposes. I'm. Not. Your. Son."

"Figured it out, have you?" Dread murmured. "Well now, I suppose I'll have to fix this the old fashioned way."

"No matter what you do, you won't win, Dread Wing," Z'neth snarled.

"I already have," Dread snorted.
