Tommy adjusted his gloves, making sure the wraps were nice and tight when he spotted the youth dropping onto a chair, leaning against the bar. There was an odd tattoo on his left arm - one that looked vaguely familiar. He settled back down, wanting to watch and see what was going on. He could wait a few more minutes before he'd be officially late to their training session. Whoever this kid was he - was far too young to be here. He picked up his bottle and sipped it slowly, studying the youth.

Sasuke took the bottle he had gotten from the bartender and sipped it slowly. He refrained from making a face - Kami, how could they drink this crap? He suddenly understood why she kept ordering shochu after the missions when faced with the choice of this crap and that. He took another drink when he realized he had been thinking about her again.

Tommy studied the child's face, saw the look of longing that had passed over it and nodded to himself. Well, Snakes had been bitching that he hadn't taken a student on who knew how long. He rose slowly and made his way over. His left hand shot up and caught the kunai that had come flying. He smirked. Kid was good, he thought before catching sight of the eyes that were looking at him. Oh, /hell/. Why did it have to be one of them? He prayed to all the powers that be and took a steadying breath, pulling the child up from the chair and walked him out the door, but not before dropping payment for their drinks.

The drive back to the base was quiet as both ninjas were lost in their thoughts. A rare smile crossed Tommy's features as they entered the Pit and caught sight of Snake-Eyes and... He blinked a moment at the reaction his new student had. Well, that was unexpected, he thought, watching the two run to each other and embrace.

Snake-Eyes's shoulders shook in silent mirth - leave it to Tommy to play Cupid.
