Cotton Candy - Apex

If there was one thing that Apex loved about the summer festival [other than getting a chance to take a ride on that old fashioned merry-go-round that they found a few years ago during a survey trip and had lovingly restored to its former glory - which had been a multi-year project], it was the bright pink cotton candy that one of the vendors sold.

She plucked a piece of the fluffy sugary treat and popped it into her mouth, allowing the sweetness to melt on her tongue. Another perk was that she was the only one who liked the stuff so she didn't have to share this particular treat.

She popped another piece into her mouth and continued to wander, taking in the sights - wanting to enjoy her day off.

Pumpkin - Iranda

AN: preseries

Iranda hefted the pumpkin on to the table, wincing slightly at the creeaaak the table made. She made a small mental reminder to go pick a new table since this one had seen far better days [especially since Riptor was using it as a teething tool].

She picked up a knife and slowly began to cut a hole in the top. She set the knife down, making sure it was in far enough so little hands didn't grab it. She paused a moment, hearing the padding of little feet.

"Mommy," came the voice of her youngest. "What you doing?" he asked.

Iranda smiled softly, scooping her baby. "Carving the jack-o'-lantern," she said.

"Peak help?"

"You can tell me the design and I'll carve it," she said.

Peak grinned. "Dragon?" he asked.

"Dragon it is," she said, nodding.

Copper - Cifex

Cifex stared down at his arm, wincing ever so slightly at seeing the mess the copper wiring had become after that encounter with that mutant [what did Apex say his name was? Something Wing?] He took a steadying breath, hoping that the base he had been found in still had the necessary repair tools otherwise he was in a serious bind. Thankfully, the damaged arm wasn't his dominant arm and he'd still be able to use his weapons but.. He wasn't happy with the whole issue, especially since he wasn't sure what happened to Apex. There was a disturbing gap in his memory and he didn't like it - hopefully that attack didn't fry his circuits..

He let out a sigh, something he picked up from watching Apex and, he paused, trying to search his memory banks to remember who those three males were. A frown crossed his features at that search came up short. He silently prayed that whatever made him forget who those three were would leave his precious memories [what little he had of them] of Apex alone.

Wild Strawberry - Peak [Greywolf, Dread]

Peak mentally cursed a certain apprentice of his father's, wishing for the umpteenth time that hour that the young wizard had a better grasp of his magic beyond his skill with wind magic. He scampered over to one of the wildly growing strawberries and snapped it off its stem, working to shove one into his pouch [which was a bloody weird feeling].

He was going to get even - he wasn't sure how, but he was going to get even. He washed his paws before starting to wash the rest of his fur. Damn stupid mage. Why he thought a chipmunk transformation spell would have any luck on breaking the curse on his siblings? He glared at Greywolf, albeit the effect was lost on the wizard due to how damn cute he was.

Greywolf rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment before wilting at the look that his master's son's lover was giving him. Oh /crap/.

Dread Wing stalked over and scooped the chipmunk up carefully. "Why do you always seem to get into trouble when I'm not around?" he asked.

Peak just glared.

Cream - Sky Fury [Summit, Peak, Iranda]

Summit set down a bowl of cream on his floor, absently watching as his new flame point Himalayan queen pad into the kitchen. He remembered Mother showing Himalayans when he was younger and he had always loved taking care of her cat, feeling at home with one of the fluff balls settled on his lap, purring. So, it was only natural that when he was old enough, the first cat he got was a Himalayan. [Besides, Himalayans were a lot cuter than that naked thing Peak got - why he wanted a furless cat was beyond him]

Sky Fury lapped quietly at the bowl of cream, feeling content. She liked her new master - his hands always so gentle with her. She was decidedly going to like living here. She sat down and began to groom after she was finished with her bowl of cream.

Dread ran a clawed hand across the deep purple silken fabric, her golden gaze distant. She recalled from those ancient fashion books that Fryte had found on his last scavenging run that this shade of purple was reserved for those of the ruling class. A smile slowly formed and she nodded to herself. If anyone deserved this color - it was definitely her. She glanced up at the merchant and nodded.

Peak tapped his foot absently as he waited for Derica to show. He loved his girlfriend [and his brain lurched to a halt. Wha? Since when did he think of her that way?] to death but he really wanted to get back to the amber run before any of his siblings got overly suspicious.

"Well?" came a familiar voice.

Peak stared wide eyed at the female. "Um.. Whoa.." he breathed, trying to remember to do that.

AN: Jekyll/Hyde'verse [early on]

Aaron gripped the pommel of his rosewood cane as he walked down the halls of the Arlan family compound. A brief argument had sparked between he and Joshua regarding the potential marriage between their children - Joshua wanted the wedding to happen before the end of the year and Aaron wanted the pair to not rush into the marriage.

He promised himself that he'd have a long conversation with Z'neth, wanting his eldest's opinion on the matter since this was his future.

He knocked briefly on the door before letting himself into his son's laboratory. "Z'neth," he said, catching his son's attention.

"Father," he said, nodding a greeting.

Aaron walked over to the table, his rosewood cane making a soft thunk as he walked. "A moment of your time."

Dread stared at his office, his left eye twitching ever so slightly. His gaze went from his office to two of his Counsel. He pointed at his office, silently daring one of them to come forward and tell him what the hell happened.

Fryte glanced in and shuddered. There were many things in this world he could stand and that cheery orange was not one of them. "It looks like a mango exploded," he said dryly.

"Really. I couldn't have guessed," Dread returned, sarcasm dripping. "Why is my office mango orange?"

"Because it's a cheerful color?" Nocturna offered, the she-mutant's lips curving upwards in a smirk.

Dread just glared at her.
