New Neighbors - Zarkan/Amod, Summit

AN: I may revisit this particular trio at a later date ::impish grin::

Summit leaned against the frame of his front door, a cup of coffee in his hand. He took a small sip from it, watching with vague interest as the moving van began to unload various sized boxes and take them into the house opposite his. Well, it'll be nice to have new neighbors - the last one had been such an ever loving bitch [and as Peak had been fond of saying 'may dogs forever piss on her prized flowerbeds']. So what if he brought one or two guy friends over to spend the night - he was entitled to!

So, with that in mind, he just hoped that the new neighbors wouldn't be offended if he brought a boyfriend over to spend the night. He was feeling lonely these days. Of course, his coffee mug had a rather rude introduction to the doorstep when he saw who was moving in opposite him. A freakin' Adonis and the other male wasn't too bad on the eyes either. He swallowed harshly and quickly made his way inside, needing to attend to a certain problem that had made itself known.

Pretend Couple!AU - Peak/Nora

Peak leaned against Nora's shoulder, dozing quietly. It had been a long day of playing "pretend" to satisfy Nora's parents [who had decided to get on Nora's case about still being single at her age and why wasn't she more like her sister that was, what up to her fifth rugrat?] He didn't mind pretending - he really didn't, but there came a point when he wanted to figure out if it was going to stay pretend or actually become real.

Nora gently stroked his hair, helping to keep up the illusion just as her mother entered the living room.

Pen Pals!AU - Peak/Dread

Peak settled on the sofa, one leg dangling over the edge, the other at a propped up angle. He had the day off from school - some sort of holiday [he hadn't been paying attention as to what it was - something stupid, probably] so he could get away with relaxing and getting caught up with his mail. He held the latest letter from his pen pal in his hand and was reading it. He winced a little as he read about one of Dread's misadventures involving honey, feathers and gremwings - he wasn't sure what possessed the other youth to pull such a stunt but a weak chuckle escaped him. [He might have pulled a similar stunt only with Hime and not a gremwing]

Mind made up, he decided to send a letter to Dread, letting him know he wasn't alone in doing stunts like that - and maybe the two of them could hook up and visit each other during summer break..?

Ghost[s] in Love!AU - Summit/Nora

AN: A nod to 'The Ghost and Mrs Muir'. Will probably revisit at some point

Nora touched the painting of the pirate youth, a faint smile crossing her lips as she took in his rugged good looks. She had inherited the painting a few years ago from her distant [in more ways then one] grandmother. Supposedly the painting was haunted by the ghost of the young pirate that was the subject of the painting, but she had long stopped believing in ghosts around the same time she stopped believing in the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus...

Summit silently sighed as he watched the young woman who now 'owned' him sleeping quietly in her bed. She looked so much like his beloved from so long ago that a part of him tried to fool his brain into believing that, if only to ease his sense of loneliness.

He drifted closer to her, his hand easily slipping through her long scarlet locks. "I love you," he whispered softly.

Nora sighed softly, a content smile on her features as she sunk into the plush softness of her sofa when she noticed the familiar scent of male's colonge and immediately knew who it was. "Hello, Summit," she called out to the not there [yet] male.

The ghost slowly took form and moved closer to his lady fair. "You look lovely," he said, his ghostly fingers slipping through her hair.

She blushed to the roots of her hair. "Thank you," she murmured.

Nora made her way over to her rocking chair, settling down in it. She let out a tired sigh and closed her eyes, just for a moment. Her goddaughter was due to visit with her daughter and she wanted to meet the child, but she was just so tired. Maybe a nap wouldn't hurt..

Summit slowly appeared and studied the woman before him - pushing ninety but still as beautiful as the day they had met all those decades before. He gently touched her hand, watched with gentle eyes as she woke, looking just as the day they met. "It's time, Nora," he said quietly.

She glanced backwards then back at him, confusion etched on her features.

"You went in your sleep," he said, pulling her into his arms to comfort her. "There is one plus to that, though."

She drew back slightly to look at him.

"It means we can finally do this," he said before capturing her lips in a kiss - something he had been wanting to do for a long time.

AN: Apex - Ashlynn, Dread - Damon, Cifex - Christopher

Ashlynn blinked her eyes and gave a small groan as the light made her eyes water. Terrific, on duty with Damon. "How are you not suffering the hangover from hell when we both went to the same party?" she asked, tying her apron.

Damon just chuckled. "If you recall, your older brother attended and I was the designated driver for him." He did feel a bit of sympathy of her and passed her the bottle of painkiller.

"Thanks," she said, popping two in her mouth. "Remind me never to drink again."

Damon snorted at that before giving a minor dark chuckle when Ashlynn winced as the bell over the door chimed as someone entered the coffeehouse. "Ah, look who it is," he said. "He's all yours."

Ashlynn glanced over and her cheeks heated up as she noticed who it was. Christopher - the subject of her current crush. Now, to get his favorite cup of coffee brewed.

"Hey, Ash," Christopher said with a warm smile. "Can I have.."

"A cappuccino with extra foam," she said, blushing as she set it before him.

"Well, that's the last of it," Dram said as he slammed the trunk shut. He cast a weary gaze at his younger brother. "Are you sure you have everything?" he asked.

Z'neth closed his eyes and ran through his mental checklist. Yeah, that looked like it was everything. Anything else, he could pick up at a later date. "Yeah, big bro," he said, opening his eyes and smiling.

Dram nodded and made his way to the driver seat. Well, there were perks about dorming with his little brother - they had shared a room before and this would help him keep an eye on Z, make sure he didn't slide back into bad habits [like going days without sleep..] He waited for Z to say his goodbyes to their parents and started the multihour trek back to the school, silently praying that the state wasn't partaking of its usual pastime of road construction.

Dram groaned as they finally pulled into his parking spot. "When the hell are they going to finish doing that road?" he asked.

"Never?" Z'neth offered before spotting a girl in the distance. He flushed a little before moving to go help Dram unpack the car.

Dram shook his head. Well, if little bro did start dating, then he'd have an extra set of eyes to watch over Z'neth. "You did remember to pack your meds, right?" he asked, suddenly remembering something.

"Yeah," came the quiet response.

"Dad just doesn't want you.."

"I know," he cut his brother off and grabbing the first big box and heading for the dorm.

Dram sighed. Wonderful. He grinned slightly as he saw his boyfriend approach. "Hey, Fryte," he said, lightly kissing the other male.

Prison!AU - Fryte [Z'neth]

AN: Warden!Fryte and prisoner!Z'neth [do not ask what Z did - he isn't saying]

Fryte cracked his back [even if those doctors warned him not to - especially given how bad his back really was] as he rose from his chair. Another day, another dollar and heaven knew he needed that dollar - engagement rings didn't come cheap and he wanted the perfect one for when he finally got around to asking his girlfriend of six years to marry him.

Fryte massaged the dull ache forming, starting with his left temple. If there was one thing he hated about his job, it was dealing with some of the prisoners. He flipped through the list he had been given at the start of the shift, his eyes focusing on a few names and he bit back a groan.

He made his way slowly to the last cell and gave a weary look at the inhabitant. "Do I have to let you start decorating?" he asked. "Seriously, do you plan on living in here?"

He was already dreading the phone call to had to make to the youth's father that his son was once again behind bars. He wasn't sure he wanted to know why the heir of the Arlan family name was behind bars - again. A quick skim of the list told him and he sighed. Terrific.
