Helenium - Iranda
Date: 2014-06-01 09:03 pm (UTC)Iranda's shoulders shook slightly as she tried to keep her tears at bay. The yellow and orange daisy like flowers triggered her to remember the precious children she had abandoned against her will. She turned to Naomi and fell into the older woman's embrace and sobbed brokenly.
Naomi rubbed Iranda's back, gently comforting the woman. "Oh, honey," she murmured. "We'll find a way to get you back."

Azalea - Summit
Date: 2014-06-01 09:13 pm (UTC)"They mean temperance," she offered, a one-shoulder shrug accompanying her words.
"Temperance," he repeated.
She gave a small nod. "One of the values in it is forgiveness," she said quietly.
Summit paused and then looked back the vibrantly blooming blossoms. "Forgiveness," he murmured quietly. "But forgiveness for what?" he asked, turning his attention back to her.
She gave him another one-shoulder shrug. "That's for you to decide, Summit," she said before making her way to the house.
Summit made his way over to the bush and settled down to start work on tending to it. Maybe, maybe working on this bush would help ease his troubled mind with how he failed so many people on so many levels. If only he had been...

Date: 2014-06-01 09:50 pm (UTC)Joshua set the basket of geraniums to the side, massaging his temples after he did so. The dull ache was just not leaving - of course, that may have something to do with what was now seeming to be an utter folly. Why he had thought to adopt his brother's daughter and that it would be easy to raise her was beyond him?
He glanced over at the bassinet next to his desk and made his way over to examine the contents. His gaze grew concerned as he stared down at the screaming infant. He wordlessly scooped her up, holding her close to his chest, rubbing soothing circles on her back. "shh," he crooned.
And once again, he cursed his twin brother's stupidity to go on a mission he wasn't qualified for. He didn't know the first thing about raising babies!

How *dare* Aaron tell him he understood how he felt! Aaron's wife was missing - she could be found someday. Aaron's wife wasn't dead! *His* daughter was!
He slammed his fist into a tree, his shoulders shaking as he tried to suppress his tears. He made his way over and gently touched the carved name. "I'll miss you, Nora," he said quietly.

Date: 2014-06-02 02:12 pm (UTC)[let me tackle that Cifex prompt and then I'll get to Tommy and Lucy]
Ivy - Tommy and Lucy
Date: 2014-06-02 02:50 pm (UTC)Lucy's mother adjusted her daughter's veil, trying so hard not to cry. Here was her little girl, all grown up and getting married. She wiped her eyes slightly. "You look beautiful," she said.
Lucy blushed a rich rose. "Thank you, mother," Lucy said and picked up her bouquet of roses and ivy. She allowed one finger to trail down one of the ivy leaves, a soft smile on her features.
-
Tommy stood at the alter, a spray of ivy pinned on his lapel. After all these years, the hopes, the dreams of this moment - it was just about time. He glanced over at the "priest", and gave him a wry smile. [Okay, so the one doing the ceremony for them wasn't a priest - but he was technically allowed to do this since he was Tommy's superior officer]
Peak just smiled back, all the while wondering when the hell these two had grown up - he could still see them as the little kids who idolized himself and his older siblings. He'd have to alert [and here he chuckled since he remembered Summit swearing up and down that there was no way in hell he'd ever take part in that madness] Councilman Summit that Tommy's team was going to need a new team lead since Tommy was going to be going on a honeymoon.
-
Lucy smiled up at her father as he lead her down the aisle to where Tommy was waiting for her. It had been a spur of the moment thing, really, to include the ivy in her bouquet but she remembered reading in one of the books she was trying to preserve for future generations was that ivy meant friendship and that had been what had gotten her this far.
She had to admit, when she first met Tommy all those years ago - she hadn't been fully impressed with him, there had been something about him that annoyed her. But as time went on, a friendship had formed [she couldn't remember the starting point - was it when he stood up to the bully who stole her hat? Or was it when he risked breaking something to rescue something she had lost?] and had only deepened over the years. And now, here they were on the verge of just deepening that bond they had.

From:Fleur-De-Lis - Dread and Aaron [and Peak]
Date: 2014-06-02 07:56 pm (UTC)Aaron stared at the scroll on his desk, the decorative fleur-de-lis on the seal. Aaron let out a soft groan - already predicting the contents of the scroll. Yet another marriage proposal from Dread in regards to his youngest child. He massaged his left temple before going over to sit at his desk. He pulled a blade out of a draw and gently slide it underneath the seal, popping it.
He allowed the scroll to tumble open. His eyes briefly skimmed it before seeing that he was, in fact, quite accurate. Dread was getting to be so damn predictable with these. The only reason he hadn't agreed [yet] was Peak was still in school and would be for at least two more years.

From:Freesia - Dread, Aaron, Peak
Date: 2014-06-02 08:13 pm (UTC)Dread Wing leaned back in his throne, reading over the response. Enclosed as a simple cutting from a freesia plant. He smirked slightly, knowing what that meant [and who it was from]. The missive may have been from Aaron - telling him to wait, again. But the cutting was definitely from Peak - telling him to trust him, that he had a plan.
-
Several hours later, Dread found a certain youth [pretty much drenched to the bone] standing on the landing strip, trying to figure out where Black Heart's nest was so Stormy could bed down for the night.
Dread chuckled before he approached Peak, a towel and a cup of warm cocoa that Gangryn swore up and down that he hadn't experimented on. "Here," he offered.
"Told you I had a plan," Peak said, grinning as he took the towel first to roughly dry his hair.
"So I see. Let's hope it doesn't backfire," Dread said dryly. If he was feeling nice, he'd send a message to Aaron later letting him know that Peak was safe and with him.
