Ilona was settled in her garden, collecting herbs when she heard an odd noise approaching. Her head raised and she stared unbelieving at the massive white bear. What was a bear of all things doing in this area? Her pale purple eyes swept his form, taking in the red marring the fur. Her expression softened and she rose slowly, wiping her hands on her long skirt. "Hello, bear," she murmured softly, approaching slowly.
The bear watched the female slowly approached. He didn't answer, not wanting to scare her. Bears were feared right now but he didn't have the strength to change back right now. He just hoped she would take pity on a wounded beast.
Nora poked her head out of the cottage door and stared, dumbfounded. "Ilona, get away from there!"
Ilona turned and looked at Nora. "He's injured, Nora," she countered.
"That would make him more dangerous," Nora snapped.
"I didn't comment on you taking in the wounded puffball vampire owl," she snarked.
Nora's lips twitched in a smile. Okay, that was an amusing tag for the owl. She'd allow that one. "All right, but I'm thinking you're crazy."
Ilona smiled and slowly approached the bear.
The bear settled, waiting for her to approach. He'd show them how tame he could be.
