Rise of the Dragon Flyz
Sep. 12th, 2013 10:09 amAN: I have no idea what spawned this one - I honestly don't. [Ages as follows: Dram - 18, Z'neth - 16, Summit - 14, Ilona - 13, Apex - 12, Peak - 4-6 (basically, young enough to still believe in the Easter Bunny)]
Z'neth was mentally cursing out his younger siblings, honestly wishing he could have been back home, curled up in his nice warm bed. He had been at home in bed for a reason - the start of the winter season cold that he always seemed to catch [much to his growing irritation]. But no, his siblings honestly couldn't get it into their heads not to cause trouble which meant he'd have to bail them out of before Father found out and grounded them into the next century. He sneezed again, clearly feeling miserably as he walked through the lab - trying to find at least one of his siblings before they got into something they shouldn't.
He glanced over and smiled at his father's youngest "assistant" [technically, she wasn't supposed to be there - given her age, a mere three years his junior, but she had been his father's shadow for years now so..] "Hey, 'lona," he called over, before sneezing again.
Ilona startled at her name being called out before smiling up at the sixteen year old Z'neth [praying all the while the blush wasn't too noticeable]. "Hey," she called back, hopping off her stool and making her way over. She fished out a tissue from her pocket and offered it to him, smiling before remembering something and promptly frowning at him. "You're supposed to be in bed," she said, poking him lightly in the chest.
"Tell that to my siblings," he groaned. "I haven't heard a peep from them all day."
Ilona quirked a brow. "Are you sure they're not in their rooms?" she asked.
"I checked them first," he sighed and sneezed. "They are going to be in so much trouble when I get my hands on them."
Ilona gave a small nod. "All right, I'll help," she said. "Now, let's start with what we know. Dram's with your father and won't be back until the evening," she said, ticking off names. "Emergency session with Council. Uncle Joshua's not happy about something - nothing to do with your father, but I think it's because some of the newer dragonators are doing something stupid." She merely rolled her eyes, clearly unamused. "Uncle Joshua's been threatening to lift the ban on his and Uncle Aaron's drinking because of it."
Z'neth groaned. If Councilor Joshua was threatening that, then things were in worse shape then he thought. He'd have to work extra hard once he got back on duty after he got over his cold.
Ilona nodded. "I haven't seen Apex today, but I know Summit mentioned he was going over to Zarkan's to study with him."
Z'neth nodded. "Hopefully he's not studying anatomy with Miriam," he muttered, chuckling at the offended expression that crossed Ilona's features. "Okay, okay, I'll stop teasing him about that."
"Good," she grumped, crossing her arms over her chest. "That leaves just Peak." She paused a moment, clearly thinking over something before glancing at Z'neth. "Wasn't Apex supposed to watch Peak?" she asked.
Z'neth nodded before groaning. "And we don't know where my sister.. I swear I'm going to ground her if Father doesn't. She knows she's supposed to be helping out with Peak. Especially since I'm not supposed to right now because Father doesn't want Peak to catch my cold."
Ilona nodded. "Let's check around the lab. You know he likes to play hide and seek with your father here," she said.
