Prompt: Morals
Dec. 10th, 2012 11:02 amOrochimaru couldn't help but to begin to wonder when and where it was when he laid his morals by the wayside. So many things he had done - some of which were tinged with bittersweet regret that made him still question what was truly black and white in this world when there were so many shades of grey in a ninja's life. But now...
His golden snake eyes closed as he stood in the doorway to his apprentice's room and let out a soft sigh. He made his way in and gently adjusted the blankets, making sure the young Uchiha heir was comfortable, all the while trying to ignore the voice that sounded like his sensei's telling him that he no matter how cruel he acted, that he still had that soft side to him. Personally, Orochimaru didn't think he had a soft side left anymore - it was merely a matter of convinence that he was doing this, that he couldn't afford the Uchiha to get sick before he could preform the ritual.
Still, he thought as he picked up a stuffed toy that he knew hadn't been there when the boy arrived [something that reminded him of just how young this child really was - true, he was a teenager, but a seriously messed up one {who could say he was truly normal after what Itachi had done to him all those years ago}] and tucked it in next to him. "Sleep well," he said quietly. He turned and made his way out.
He sighed quietly and leaned against the wall. It was getting harder and harder to see him just as a future host and not as a son. He quietly cursed his newly found heart.
