Apex studied the large topaz stone, her blue eyes focused on it. Six long years and so far no sign of their prince, her cousin. She glanced over at her elder brother, a soft sigh escaping her. "Nothing," she said quietly. "I've tried scrying the stone but I'm getting nothing. It's like Cousin Topaz vanished into thin air."
Z'neth let out a wearied sigh. "Terrific," he groaned. "That means we'll have to send our little brother to our uncle's since he's the one that's shown affinity to that stone."
Apex nodded and pulled her shawl closer to her. "So, how are things with our other cousins," she said, pulling a face at the thought of the White Diamonds.
"Zushan's an asshole as to be expected, especially when he learned Uncle Reishan's trying to nominate me as the next Lord," Z'neth said with a shudder, that was a headache he well and truly didn't want to deal with, but he had little choice. "As for the other two, as well as to be expected."
Apex nodded. "So, which of us gets to tell Peak that he'll be going to Uncle's?"
Z'neth let out a small groan. "I suppose I should. I am the eldest after all and the next Lord." His left eye twitched at the thought.
