went into TRU to pick up my last paycheck - surprise, I apparently missed a phone call from HR that let me know that I'm still employed! I pick up my next shift next week!

(and I decided to treat myself to a MLP blind bag based off the 80s ponies and got Sundance! Squee!)

apparently I missed a phone call from HR that would have told me this (and I don't see any missed calls from them on my cell so your guess is as good as mine as to which phone they called) so when I went in to pick up what I thought was my last check, I got told that I'm one of the few they were keeping from seasonal. Came as a nice surprise since I did love working there (so much more than Target). I start back up next week (I should be getting that schedule Thursday/Friday), although if they need me for tomorrow (which I supposedly was on schedule for), I'm able to come in and work it.

It's just baffling to me that they wouldn't tell you to your face on your last day or make sure they actually spoke with you on the phone. Your store has strange communication, to be sure.
