Phillip was settled on the sofa, a bowl of popcorn nestled next to him and he turned the DVD player on, and was pleasantly surprised to find a really poorly done half live action, half CGI television show. Vampire cars brought to life by a meteor? Well, it did look like good popcorn fodder so..

He shifted a bit to get comfortable and found himself slowly losing himself in the cheesiness of the series until the villain, Count Tracula [which nearly had him collapsing in a fit of laughter at the name alone] spoke. He sat up a little straighter and stared at the screen. He used the remote to zip backwards a bit to replay the first spoken words of the vampiric truck.

"Rise.. Rise, my army of darkness! Awake from your sleep."

Yeah, that really did sound like him and he even had the right count for minions [although, he had a feeling Freddy would do a Gibbs if he even thought about comparing Fryte to the ...ice cream truck?] but still.

Derek entered the living room and froze when he heard lines he swore he wish he could forget saying.

"Ah, Car-daver. My faithful fuel ghoul. And Ambula. My mistress of mayhem. And Auto-Maniac. My.. ice cream truck."

Phillip looked up at Derek, then back at the screen, then back at Derek. "Please tell me you got a decent paycheck from that?"

Derek's left eye merely twitched in response. "Seal it away, so that no one can ever find it," he said finally. He swore he had managed to destroy that copy long ever ago.

"I'll take that as a no."

Hhahahahaha, this is awesome!

Uh, so was the copy already in the dvd player or did he find an unlabeled one and decide to check it out?

thank you :D

and a combo - it was an unlabeled disc that was already in the DVD player. [Derek had put it in there earlier to make sure it was the right disc before he gave it a funeral via the microwave]

One of my former classmates claimed she did this to a badly burnt CD, whether or not she actually did, I don't know.

edit:

Oh, and Van-pires gets so much better. Heh. Apparently, they made a good version/son of Tracula out of Tracula's spare parts. His name? Alucart.

I wish I was making this up, but sadly, I'm not. The show was so ridiculously bad [I swear, Dread's VA really must have needed that paycheck]

This could also be true

"I'm clearly the better pilot" - Peak, Summit

[identity profile] strongheartmaid.livejournal.com 2015-06-16 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
AN: a small nod to Ry's Dowtown'verse..

Peak stared at the disaster area that had been the backyard and then slowly, oh so slowly, turned his head to stare at his older brother. "I'm clearly the better pilot," Peak said.

"Oh? And your reasoning would be, little brother?" Summit asked, clearly turning a blind eye to the destruction that lay behind them.

"Well, for starters, I didn't destroy Mother's garden."

Summit winced and turned his head to look at the garden. "Think she'll notice?" he asked.

Peak glanced back towards the house to see their mother emerging from it. "Um.. I think she already has."

"SEAN LAWRENCE ARLAN!" their mother's voice boomed as she stormed up the path towards them.

Peak wisely made himself scarce - he was not ashamed to admit his mother was downright terrifying when mad.

Also, nice to see Iranda on the warpath! I need to write her like that....

heh :D well, her garden is a destroyed mess so I don't blame her for being on the warpath. I foresee much hard work on Summit's part to get it back to looking nice again

"You're not dressed warmly enough." - Iranda

[identity profile] strongheartmaid.livejournal.com 2015-06-17 03:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Iranda buried her face in her left hand and shook her head slowly. Of all the children, she would have thought that Z'neth would have had a little more patience than that. "You're not dressed warmly enough," she said finally.

Z'neth glanced down, noting that he did have a sweater on and his snow pants and snow boots. "Oh?"

Iranda gave a very firm nod. "No going out to play in the snow until you get a jacket on, Mister. The snow's not going to go anywhere."

Z'neth pouted for a moment but relented and went to go find his jacket. He had promised Peak he'd teach him how to make snowballs.

"And make sure Peak's dressed properly as well," she called. "We don't need the two of you coming down with the flu again!"

Awww!

"I accept your surrender." - Dread Wing

[identity profile] strongheartmaid.livejournal.com 2015-06-17 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Dread glanced at his only "son" and then at the human female hiding behind him, peering out shyly. He felt the start of a headache forming - and wondered not for the first time since the whole plan started why it felt like he hadn't thought this completely through. Idly he wondered which ancestor of his he might have offended for this to happen. "She's human," he said, after a moment of silence.

His son dared to give him a Look that implied that he well knew this. He'd have to remind Gangryn that

Dread pinched the bridge of nose, idly debating with himself. Surely this was his father's idea of revenge from beyond the grave for being a rebellious youth. Surely. "I'm assuming you wish for her to stay here then," he said slowly.

At his son's decidedly firm nod, he let loose a mental groan. Definitely was his father's handiwork. Although, he wouldn't put it past his mother either - she had a twisted sense of humor and no doubt was laughing in wherever she ended up. A small sigh escaped him and he looked at the small human, who finally worked up the nerve to step out from behind his son.

"Very well, little one," he began, reaching over with his left hand and using a finger to push her chin up so he could look into her pale eyes. "I accept your surrender."
